If you ask your neighbors or co-workers whether or not they have lost a friend or loved one to cancer, the likely answer would be, "yes." It's a disease that kills some 1,500 Americans every day. Jay Lowe, a Peachtree Corners man knows first hand the agony of watching a loved one fight the deadly disease. At 34, Lowe's sister Amy Piazza, is on her third round trying to ward off cancer - this time it's bone cancer which has metastasized. She was first diagnosed with breast cancer at the tender age of 25, underwent a double mastocomy and her cancer went into remission. Mothers And Daughters Against Cancer Founder Feels the Love

Susan Highsmith Graveline has survived cancer twice, saying her bouts with the deadly disease actually gave her "clarity" and the ability to reach out to others, while helping researchers find cures.

She brightens any room she enters with genuine happiness.  She’s a successful event planner, a remarkable fundraiser and charity organizer as well as an expert barista – something of which she is particularly proud.  But Susan Highsmith Graveline is also a two-time cancer survivor. “I think going through cancer twice has helped clarify things,” says the founder of Mothers And Daughters Against Cancer (MADAC) and Feel the Love.  “I do believe I’ve got purpose; that God has given me, through this, the ability to touch people.” After a hysterectomy in 1991 to halt the spread of uterine and cervical cancer, Susan and her doctors were confident that the disease had been arrested. “I really felt like I had dodged a bullet,” Susan recalls. Susan is an inspiration to us all. We all dream of making a difference and she has lived making a difference. I have heard her speak and I leave uplifted and dedicated to being better and doing better. Feel the love is exactly what I feel when hearing her speak.
