Some Chick-fil-A's Run Out of Chicken on Customer Appreciation Day
Saddleback Church's Pastor Rick Warren says Dan Cathy called, claimed world record, while local chains had to close early after running out of fresh chicken.
According to Pastor Rick Warren's Twitter feed, Dan Cathy, head of Chick-fil-A and son of founder Truett Cathy, called Pastor Rick Warren and claimed to have set a world record in sales: "@DanCathy just called me. #ChickfilA has already set a world record today, with 7 more hours to go in the West. #outofchicken" Local restaurants were packed with people throughout the day, and the location on Scenic Highway had to close early. "We just couldn't keep up with the demand," said manager Kevin Kelliher. "We ran out of thawed chicken and people were having to wait 40 minutes for their meals."
