Norcross Wins Class AAAAAA Football Title

The Blue Devils defeated Lovejoy High 21-14 in the state championship game.

After an undefeated 14-win season, the Blue Devils added one more win Saturday at the Georgia Dome. Norcross High defeated Lovejoy High 21-14 in the state football championship,  earning the Class AAAAAA title for the first time. The game had a slow start with nothing on the board until Lovejoy scored a 60-yard touchdown in the second quarter for a 7-0 lead. Norcross kicked a field goal in the third quarter, but the Wildcats answered with another touchdown minutes later, taking a 14-3 lead. Norcross' winning points came in the fourth quarter with Alvin Kamara's 61-yard touchdown reception, which was followed by another touchdown by the running back.
