Meet little Cilla, a Daschund-Yorkie mix girl who is around 1 year of age and weighs approximately 8 pounds. And every pound is full of love and affection. Even though Cilla is small, her heart is as big as the sky and full of love and hope for a family and home of her own. Cilla is spayed, 98 percent house trained (100 percent if taken out periodically), microchipped and up-to-date on all vetting and shots. She is also crate-trained. She easily goes into her crate when offered a treat. Cilla came to Angels Among Us Pet Rescue through a rural animal control shelter, a little stray girl alone, facing death, but still put her best paw forward, greeting everyone who came her way, and begging them to rescue her. Angels Among Us Pet Rescue is looking for a very special person or family for Charlie, a lovely 13-year-old Cocker Spaniel. Angels participated in the rescue of Charlie, who was originally acquired by a couple for their granddaughter. Once the granddaughter lost interest in her new puppy, Charlie was banned to a room in the basement, and only received human companionship when he was fed. The room was kept dark, and Charlie was never allowed outside. Fortunately, a Good Samaritin discovered Charlie's plight and convinced the elderly couple to relinquish Charlie to Angels. He was immediately taken to a veterinarian, where he was evaluated and provided essential medical care. He is now in a temporary foster home, and all involved in his …

Beautiful emerald green-eyed cat "Emmie" looking for loving home.
Lovely Emmie couldn't believe it when her family packed up and moved away...and left her behind. This beauitful green-eyed Russian Blue Mix (who is about 4 years old) lived outside before one of Angels' volunteers realized that she had been abandoned, and asked us to take her into our adoption program. Those of us who have met Emmie are baffled at how anyone could have treated this super nice cat so cruelly. We have already discovered how lovable and affectionate she is. This is a cat who is used to being a household pet and behaves accordingly. She loves being with people, likes to simply "hang out" with our volunteers, and has all the makings of a lap cat. Sweet Emmie is currently in a foster home where she lives with two big calm dogs. …

Coco Puff is a very sweet feline who needs a loving home.
Coco Puff is a beautiful and sweet Siamese-Tabby mix with beautiful blue eyes and chocolate, cream, and white markings looking for a home. She is estimated to be three years old. Coco was asked to be taken in by Angels Among Us Pet Rescue after her owner lost her home and had to give up both her and Sweet Pea (since adopted). Coco has now been in an Angels foster home for about a month. Coco is timid when she first meets people, but warms up when she gets to know and trust someone. In fact, she likes to kiss her foster mom's hand when she pets her. She is playful, and especially likes her toy mice which she knocks off her cat tree when no one is watching. Her very favorite toys have feathers, and she loves interactive play with her person…

Handsome Shrek and beautiful Fiona thought their lives had taken a turn for the better, and were in what everyone had hoped was a forever home. Each of them had started out life in a county animal shelter, and were adopted when they were kittens by a loving family. Sadly, the family’s youngest daughter developed severe allergies and a new situation for these cats was desperately needed. Angels cat volunteers stepped in, and these lovely felines are now officially part of the group’s adoption program. Although Shrek and Fiona are not related, they have been raised together since they were at the shelter, and probably think they really are brother and sister. One way or another, they are best buddies, and cannot be split up. Both cats are …

Faith was rescued by an Angels Among Us Pet Rescue volunteer, and is now safe in a foster home. However, because she does not get along with other animals, she must live in a downstairs office and is lonely. Angels Among Us would like to find her a forever home where she will be a member of the family. A video of Faith can be viewed at www.petfinder.com/petdetail/16029960. Faith was discovered by a county animal control officer after she had been left in a house for more than a month without food or water. Her owner had been taken to a nursing home and Faith had been left behind. By the time she was rescued, she was extremely emaciated and barely able to walk. (See last photo to get an idea about her condition when she was found.) Angels…

Little Maltese mix is affectionate and lively.
Smitty is an adorable little Maltese mix who weighs less than 8 pounds. He was recently found in the middle of a busy road by a Good Samaritan family who searched without success to find his owner. Perhaps this was a good thing: Poor Smitty, who is about 8 years old, was covered with matted fur, was not neutered, had a collar but no ID tag nor microchip, and was clearly scared to death. Now in a loving foster home provided by a volunteer from Angels Among Us Pet Rescue, Smitty looks like a different dog. All of his fur had to be shaved off because of the mats, and he has since been mistaken for a Chinese Crested Hairless. Of course, the organization had him tested for heartworm disease (which was negative), vaccinated, and neutered. …

Thanks for helping us to get the word about Shrek and Fiona! Earlier this year we found a good home for them, but allergies by their adopter resulted in their being returned to us. What a shame! They are sweet and beautiful...and so much need to find a forever home! Deborah Smith, Cat Program Coordinator for Angels Among Us Pet Rescue   more ›
