Mark Gorman Enters 96th District Race
He's the second Republican candidate to announce.
Long-time Norcross resident Mark Gorman told Norcross Patch that he will run as a Republican for the Georgia House 96th District, which includes parts of Norcross and Duluth, in 2012. Norcross businessman Mark Williams has already announced his candidacy. Gorman, who works in the construction industry, is running for office for the first time. “I’m just really excited,” he said earlier this week, after getting confirmation back from the state that he had qualified for office. “I just want to get out there and help.” Gorman moved to the United States from Ireland when he was 2 years old, residing first in Duluth and then in Norcross ever since. “It’s sort of an American story, an American dream,” said Gorman.
