Mizuno Golf, located in Peachtree Corners, gave the "gift of golf" - brand new golf bags for each Blue Devil team member.
The 24-member Blue Devils Golf Team recently received an unexpected gift - a brand new bag for each golfer this season - thanks to a generous donation by Mizuno Golf. When the season started a few weeks ago Chris Hall, the school's golf coach, began looking into the cost of getting bags for the school's two dozen players. But even discounted, the bags would be around $100 a pop he estimated. He had a contact at the Mizuno Golf manufacturing plant in Peachtree Corners, Curtis Brown, and decided to place a call. "I called him and said 'I'd really like to get bags for the team, can we work out a deal?'" Hall remembers. Brown, who has a daughter attending NHS, did better than that - he arranged to have Mizuno donate 26 brand new golf bags to …

Champions Tour is the possible visitor, officials say.
Gwinnett County may see a pro golf tour stop again after an absence of several years. Gwinnett tourism officials are discussing with the PGA Tour on getting a tournament in the county, and may release information at the end of April. It likely would be a Champions Tour event, which is for pro golfers at least 50 years old. "It would be great to get this tournament here in Gwinnett," said Stan Hall of the Gwinnett Sports Commission. The tour stop likely would be at the TPC Sugarloaf course in Duluth, which hosted the regular PGA Tour event through 2008. The event left because of the lack of a title sponsor. The Champions Tour includes some very recognizable names. Bernhard Langer, Fred Couples and Tom Kite are among the leaders in the …
