Here are a few tips recommended by the Gwinnett Place CID, Gwinnett County Police and Gwinnett Clean and Beautiful. The key to success is covering the graffiti quickly. Studies show that applying a new paint job within 24 to 48 hours results in a near-zero rate of repeat occurrences. Making ongoing property maintenance a priority is another preventative step. Litter, broken fixtures, ragged landscaping and poor lighting only encourage crime. Improving and enhancing exterior lighting is the No. 1 -- and often the least expensive -- deterrent to crime followed closely by limiting access to a property. …
