And that measure, House Bill 512, is facing a key deadline Thursday (March 7) in the Georgia Legislature. The bill, also known as the Safe Carry Protection Act, would allow firearms to be taken onto college campuses. Thursday is "crossover day" in the Georgia Legislature. A bill must pass the House or Senate to be considered by the other body. Otherwise, it is dead for the 2013 legislative session.
