County Spelling Bee Set for Saturday, Feb. 2

Gwinnett County elementary and middle school students will compete in the district spelling bee including students from Peachtree Corners schools.

Nearly 90 Gwinnett County students from 88 schools will compete at the district's spelling bee this Saturday, Feb. 2. The students are the spelling bee champions from their local elementary and middle schools. Pinckneyville Middle, Simpson, Peachtree and Berkeley Lake elementary schools will be represented. The competition will be held at Central Gwinnett High, located at 564 W. Crogan Street in Lawrenceville. It is sponsored by the Gwinnett County Association of Educators. Student participants will register from 7:15 a.m. to 8:15 a.m. At 8:30 a.m., the local school spelling winners will first compete in a written spelling bee contest.
