Gearing Up for Gwinnett Senior Games
Organizers are getting ready for the annual Gwinnett County Senior Golden Games tournaments, which take place April 11 - May 25. Expect "friendship, fellowship and competition," according to officials.
(Editor's Note: This article is taken directly from a press release from the Gwinnett County Senior Golden Games.) "The first games of the Gwinnett Senior Golden Games were held in May, 2000. The games in 2000 had 76 participants in 15 events. The number of registrants in recent years have exceeded 350, competing in 35 different athletic and nonathletic events. "Some of our events include indoor and outdoor shuffleboard, putting, disk golf, softball throw for distance, rummikub, bridge duplicate, swimming, tennis, bowling singles, bowling doubles and mixed doubles, health walk, cycling, billiards, frisbee toss, football toss, bocce ball, table tennis, 18 hole golf, badminton, and archery.
