Have You Finished Your Christmas Shopping?

Are you the kind of person who waits until the last minute, or prefer to have everything checked off your list before Black Friday? See what your neighbors are saying.

There tends to be the kind of people who get all their shopping done before the first holiday decoration is in sight, the kind of people who bust down the doors on Black Friday, and the people who stress just weeks – and sometimes days – before the big day. Regardless of what kind of shopper you are, buying gifts for loved ones is certainly in style this season. According to CNN, the National Retail Federation is predicting that retailers will see a 4.1 percent increase in holiday buying this season — a good bump from the 3.5 percent average for the last 10 years. CNN Money also reported that 53 percent of consumers surveyed by Accenture said they would be shopping on Black Friday, up from 44 percent last year. Were you one of those …

Will You Depend on USPS to Ship Your Holiday Packages?

The United States Postal Service is expecting record use of its services.

According to a press release, the United States Postal Service is projecting it will ship about 365 million packages this holiday season. USPS made the announcement earlier this month, which is a 20 percent increase from business volumn during the 2011 holiday season.  The agency believes the increase is due to customers embracing online shopping. USPS also projects about 18 billion cards, letters and packages will be delivered through New Year's Eve. Will you trust the U.S. Post Office to get your Christmas packages delivered on time?
