Houston Rockets Pick Norcross Grad in 2012 NBA Draft

Former UConn player Jeremy Lamb was selected with the No. 12 overall pick by the Rockets.

Norcross High graduate and University of Connecticut shooting guard Jeremy Lamb was picked up by the Houston Rockets in the first round of the 2102 NBA Draft held Thursday night, according to SoxAndDawgs.com. The 2010 Norcross High grad, along with fellow UConn starting center Andre Drummond, became the 17th and 18th first-round picks from UConn. The duo is also the Huskies' 12th and 13th lottery picks under 26-year head coach Jim Calhoun, and they're the 14th and 15th UConn players to leave school early for the draft, too. Draft prognosticators had the 6-foot-5, 180-pound being selected as high as No. 8 overall, and virtually none of the so-called "mock drafts" had him falling out of the first round.
