The official ground-breaking ceremony was held Thursday. Attending were Peachtree Corners council members Jay Lowe and Lorri Christopher and Gwinnett Commissioner Lynette Howard.
A ground breaking ceremony at the site of the new Noble Village at Spalding was held Thursday morning signaling that the long-awaited senior living center is finally under way. The senior living center had been planned for several years on the site of the former Faith Life Church on Spalding Drive, but it was late August of this year when the developer finally broke ground. Tony Gary, one of the partners in Gary Holding Group, the developers of the project, was on hand for the ceremony. "We're excited to be here in Peachtree Corners," said Gary. "This is going to be our premier development." The center, for seniors 55 and over, features residential cottages and apartments for independent living. Noble Village also provides specialized …

The Peachtree Corners development will move forward says Mark Gary's attorney. Gary is one of three principals in Gary Holding Company which is developing the Spalding Drive property. He was charged recently in federal court for bribery.
The demolition crews had barely begun their work in razing the old Faith Life Church on Spalding Drive to make way for a new senior living center, when the news hit that one of the principals in the company developing the property had been charged with bribery by the federal government. Mark Gary, one of three principals in Gary Holding Company, was charged on Sept. 5, 2012 with bribing a Gwinnett County Commissioner in 2009. He appeared before a United States Magistrate judge and was release on bond. But Peachtree Corners residents who lived nearby had been waiting for several years to see the bulldozers arrive to tear down the old church and buildings that had long fallen into disrepair. A fire last November to the church building only …

Land has been cleared on the Noble Village property, but nearby Peachtree Corners homeowners have questions for the developer on the planned buffer between their homes and the development.
Bulldozers, track hoes and dump trucks have descended on the property of the former Faith Life Church as developers clear the land to make room for a new senior living center. It was welcome news for Peachtree Corners residents who have been driving past the burned-out church building and overgrown property on Spalding Drive. But a few of the Peachtree Station neighbors who live directly behind the new development are concerned over some of the work being done, particularly the natural buffer that was to be a part of the building plans. "My neighbors and I walked through the "enhanced" buffer over the weekend trying to understand what was being done around us," said Ronald Santaniello in an email. He and his wife, Marianne, have lived in …

Bulldozers were on the Peachtree Corners site Tuesday tearing down the burned-out church buildings. The debris will be sorted and recycled.
The wrecking crews arrived this week on the Spalding Drive property and have begun removing the buildings that once served as Faith Life Church. By Tuesday afternoon, one of the buildings was already down and a crew member operating a large piece of equipment called a track hoe had begun its work on the big church building. "The buildings should be down and hauled off within two weeks," said Cary Flake, Superintendent with Rogers Construction Company who is overseeing the work. He said removing the asphalt will be the next step in clearing the property. "What takes the longest is sorting out the material for recycling," he added. The steel and brick is recycled as well as the asphalt. Flake said the asphalt is ground up and will eventually…

Nearby homeowners delighted to know the Peachtree Corners development is progressing.
The developers are moving forward with the plans to build a senior living center on the Spalding Drive property where the burned out church now sits - and it will be a welcome relief to residents who have watched the weeds take over the church building and parking lot. Final site and landscape plans were submitted to Gwinnett County for Noble Village at Spalding to be located at 5701 Spalding Drive. "The site and landscaping plans have been approved," said Bryan Lackey, Director of Planning and Development for Gwinnett County. Lackey said the City of Peachtree Corners and its yet-to-be-formed Planning Commission will take over the responsibilities for future reviews and approvals. Janice Lloyd, who lives in a home just behind the property …
