The Council is particularly interested in the citizens' opinion on changes in the County's current sanitation plan. Said Mayor Mike Mason: “Most people tell me they are generally pleased with the County's plan, but would like the pickup date changed, a larger recycling bin, more flexibility on yard waste pickup, or some other feature. That's what we want to hear. The goal is to provide the service the citizens want in the most cost effective manner.” The meeting, which is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. at City Hall, will also kick off the request for …
The threat of flooding may have passed, but concern over contamination of E.coli and other harmful bacteria increases after heavy rains.
The storms that rolled through Peachtree Corners and the metro area early Sunday morning (May 19) brought heavy rains - and the danger of flooding along the Chattachoochee River. The deluge caused the National Weather Service to issue a flood warning for Medlock Bridge National Park and surrounding areas. While the danger of flooding may have passed, another emerges - the threat of E.coli and other bacteria contamination. According to the Chattahoochee BacteriALERT website, it's caused after a heavy rain, when fecal matter from warm-blooded animals, including dogs, cats, cows and wildlife, wash down into the river. Leaking sewage lines or spills from treatment plants can also cause levels to increase. It's the elevated levels of E.coli …

Georgia's seasonally adjusted unemployment rate was 8.2 percent for the month of April, which also saw the addition of 31,200 new jobs.
It's good news for Georgia on the jobs front — the state's unemployment rate for April was the lowest since December 2008. The rate declined two-tenths of a percentage point from 8.4 percent in March. The rate a year ago was at 9.1 percent. The month of April also saw the addition of 31,200 new jobs. Most of those new jobs came in leisure and hospitality, with 10,700 jobs, professional and business services with 9,400, trade and transportation with 7,500, education and health services with 2,600 additions and construction with 1,800. “While a two-tenths of a percent drop in one month is good to see, the most important part of that is that we saw Georgia employers create over 31,000 jobs," Labor Commissioner Mark Butler said in a news …

"Home buyers moving in to the city are families that have fallen in love with the community who are up-sizing or downsizing to fit their needs without leaving the area."
In order to market your home, you have to know who your market is. It has been interesting for me, with 30 years of real estate history, to see the changes that have occurred in our market and what is driving it and why we are attracting the market we are. Our local market is comprised of buyers moving within the City of Peactree Corners, buyers relocating from intown Atlanta, buyers relocating to the Atlanta area and buyers who grew up in Peachtree Corners returning to their roots. Buyers moving within Peachtree Corners are families that have fallen in love with the city but are upsizing or downsizing to fit their needs but without leaving the area. We have communities that provide stepping stones for the buyers looking to do either. …
