Meet Peachtree Corners' New City Manager

Julian Jackson took on the duties of managing Gwinnett's newest city on Monday, Oct. 1 - now it's full-steam ahead for the city manager.

The City of Peachtree Corners has experienced a lot of "firsts" since incorporating on July 1, 2012. Now just three months later a city manager is on board to handle the operations of Gwinnett's largest city that includes some 38,000 residents and 2,000 or so businesses. Julian Jackson is the man who will take on the gargantuan task of getting a brand new city up and running. Patch had the chance sit down with him recently to ask a few questions. The first, why was he interested in the job? The opportunity to be a new city manager for a brand new city was an opportunity too good to pass up he said. New City Manager Makes His Debut at Council Meeting

Julian Jackson's first day on the job was Oct. 1 and attended his first Peachtree Corners council meeting in his official capacity Tuesday.

Mayor Mike Mason was beaming as he struck the gavel to open the City Council meeting Tuesday night. It was a day he had long awaited for. As of Oct. 1, Peachtree Corners has a city manager to handle the day to day operations of the city. Julian Jackson, whose first day was Monday, attended his first City Council meeting in his new capacity as City Manager. "Tonight is a momentous night," said Mayor Mason in his opening remarks. "We welcome our new City Manager, Julian Jackson." Nodding to Jackson, Mason added, "I just want to say in front of everyone, 'you are in charge Julian.'"
