There were 19 new applications for business licenses for the city during the last month of 2012.
New businesses continue to open in the new City of Peachtree Corners. In December 19 business licenses were issued by Gwinnett County for the city between Dec. 1-28 including the long-awaited Three Dollar Cafe, which is expected to open by the end of January 2013. Within the next few months the City of Peachtree Corners is expected to take over processing and issuing business license applications. A proposal to develop a 4.5-acre tract on S.R. 141 and Medlock in Peachtree Corners has been submitted by a local firm.
A developer has submitted a proposal for retail, restaurants and office space to be built on property across the street from The Forum Shopping Center on S.R. 141. Preliminary plans have been submitted to the City of Peachtree Corners. A portion of the tract of land to be developed fronts S.R. 141, adjacent to Piedmont Bank, the proposed usage calls for space for restaurants, retail space and possibly another bank. This acreage is currently zoned for commercial use (C-2). And behind Piedmont Bank, fronting Medlock Bridge Road, is proposed multi-level retail and office space. A look at the recent Business License Listing for the city.
With the Peachtree Corners building moratorium now in the distant past, businesses are opening up at a steady pace in the new city. Recently Patch made a quick drive-through of the revamped shopping center that is anchored by Dick's Sporting Goods and found several new "Coming Soon" signs posted in the windows. Three Dollar Cafe, Hello Eye Care and Cheeseburger Bobby's are slated to open in the near future. And Jersey Mike's Subs located just a few doors down from the recently re-opened CiCi's Pizza, opened on Wednesday. Talk about a good neighbor, Jersey Mike's owner Ron Bienvenu has already signed up for the upcoming Taste of Norcross High.
