Peachtree Elementary Student Recognized

Caroline Lantis, a 4th grade student at Peachtree Corners school, is Peachtree Corners Rotary Club's Student of the Month.

At its weekly Monday meeting, the Peachtree Corners Rotary Club recognized Caroline Lantis, who attends Peachtree Elementary School, as its student of the month. A proclamation was presented which pronounced: Peachtree Elementary is proud to recognize Caroline Lantis from Mrs. Wallace’s fourth grade class as our Rotary Student of the month. This is Caroline’s first year at Peachtree, but already she has embraced the multicultural diversity of our school and all it can offer.  Caroline is a delightful and talented young lady whose name appears at the top of the Principal’s Honor Roll in her class. Caroline is a wonderful reflection of her parents’ upbringing. Her daily life honors them with her respectful, responsible, and caring behavior …

NCSP Funds 11 Grants for Norcross Cluster Schools, Teachers

Awarded by the Norcross Cluster Schools Partnership, the grants total more than $18,000 to various teachers and schools in the area.

The Norcross Cluster Schools Partnership has awarded 11 grants totaling more than $18,000 to various teachers and schools in the area. The organization was able to fulfill the grants because of donations through sponsors, parents, community leaders, teachers, NCSP events and especially the Harvest Ball, according to the NCSP monthly newsletter. The Harvest Ball is the NCSP's annual fall fundraiser that includes beverages, dinner, live music, a silent auction and entertainment.  The grants review committee considered 29 grant applications that totaled more than $66,000. "Thank you to all the teachers that submitted grant requests," committee Chairwoman Mary Hester said in the newsletter. "We read every grant and were impressed with the …

Peachtree Elementary Student Honored by Rotary Club

Rachel Newman, a third grader in Ms. Eady's class was recognized this week by the Peachtree Corners Rotary Club as its Student of the Month.

Each week the Peachtree Corners Rotary Club recognizes a student from the Norcross elementary and middle school cluster. They rotate the schools so each school has a chance to nominate its Student of the Month.  This past week the student was from Peachtree Elementary School Rachel Newman from Ms. Eady's third-grade class was presented the following proclamation by Rotarian Robert Mann on Monday, Jan, 7.   Rachel has attended Peachtree Elementary since kindergarten, and we are very proud of her accomplishments.  She is a bright, talented, young lady who strives to always make the honor roll. Students Participate in International Walk to School Day

Peachtree Corners and Berkeley Lake schools participated in International Walk to School Day- "Walk It, Bike It, Like It" on Wednesday.

Students at various schools in the Peachtree Corners and Berkeley Lake cluster schools joined millions of other students from across the United States and 40 other countries to participate in International Walk to School Day- "Walk it, Bike it, Like it" Wednesday. The event, launched and piloted in 1994 in Great Britain, was first adapted in the United States in 1997 in Chicago and Los Angeles schools with the support of the non-profit organization “Partnership for a Walkable America”.  Currently, over 35 countries and 2,800 schools in the US participate in International Walk to School Day. Millions of students from Argentina to India to Nigeria to New Zealand and Turkey choose to take part in walking to school on WTS day. The Safe Routes …
