Tennis is the Name of the Game for these Peachtree Corners Women

ALTA tennis rules in the metro Atlanta area. The women on this Peachtree Station team gathered recently to enjoy a challenging match and some good food.

Editor's note: ALTA tennis is big in this corner of Gwinnett County. Our roving photographer caught up with one of the teams playing a morning match recently and they graciously allowed us to capture some of their matches. Talking to the women of the Atlanta Lawn Tennis Association (ALTA) soon uncovered some interesting and non-written facts about this local chapter of the association. It’s true, all the members share a love of the sport and camaraderie that extends through the years. Some players have been involved with ALTA for upwards of 20 years and I even found one team who have been tennis mates for 31 years. Carol’s Corner: Tennis at Peachtree Station

There are programs and fun for the whole family at this neighborhood club.

You rarely drive down Peachtree Corners Circle without seeing someone playing on the tennis courts at Peachtree Station. With lots of families and two full-time pros, there’s always something going on at the Peachtree Station tennis club (PSST).  Very popular at PSST are the special tennis events that are scheduled throughout the year. There are several tournaments for members such as Parent-Child, the Combo-Doubles and the biggest, the Member-Guest Tournament in August. The Member-Guest raises funds for the club as well as a chosen charity. Just for fun there are lots of Member Mixers, often around holidays such as the Fourth of July. Then there are smaller lady’s and men’s Friday night mixers. Regular programs include camps for all ages…
