While some Gwinnett students have closed their books for the summer, others who want to catch up or get ahead will be cracking open their books again when Summer School starts later in June. Face-to-Face Classes are scheduled June 12-July 11 for high school students and rising ninth graders at Mountain View High School, Peachtree Ridge High School and South Gwinnett High School, according to information provided by Gwinnett County Public Schools. Students may take courses to earn credits to get ahead or to make up classes previously taken. Summer school information now available for high school students in Gwinnett County.
Summer School through the Gwinnett County Public Schools will begin in June 2012. Classes will be available for high school students who need to make up a class or want to get ahead in school. Classes are also available for rising ninth grade students and higher. Classes will be offered in two formats: face-to-face and online. All classes will follow a Monday through Thursday schedule. No transportation will be provided for summer school. Students are advised to take no more than two summer classes. Summer vacation ends early for some students Tuesday (June 14) as Gwinnett County Public Schools begin summer sessions. Classes for high schoolers will be held at Central Gwinnett, Mill Creek and Shiloh high schools. Classes end July 13. Classes will be Monday-Thursday, with July 4 a holiday. Normal registration has concluded, but late registration will be 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Tuesday at each school site. Refunds will not be given for students who attend one day of school. Students must pay to attend summer school. For Gwinnett County residents, fee is $225 for each class, $250 for late registration. For non-Gwinnett residents, the fee is $25 more than those amounts.
