Super Bowl 2013 provided a thrilling ending Sunday (February 3) to the pro football season, with the Baltimore Ravens holding off the San Francisco 49ers 34-31 to win the NFL title in New Orleans. Not until a fourth-down pass from the 49ers' Colin Kaepernick was incomplete in the end zone in the final two minutes was the game effectively decided. The 49ers were trailing 34-29 at that point. Early in the second half, Baltimore had led 28-6, but a power outage in the Superdome halted play for about 30 minutes, and seemed to give San Francisco a chance to regroup. According to a petition on the White House website, more than 111 million American citizens watched the Super Bowl last year. So what does that do to the Monday following? Apparently it leaves it very unproductive for American businesses. The Fantasy Football website 4for4.com thinks the most logical thing to do would be to just go ahead and make it a national holiday. The Super Bowl Sunday is just a day away and what would a game day party be without great snacks? Here's a chili-cheese dip that both Giants and Patriots fans will enjoy. Ingredients: 1 8-ounce package of cream cheese, softened (can use light or fat-free if desired) 1 4-ounce can of green chiles 1 medium yellow onion, chopped and sauteed until the onions are clear and slightly browned 1 15-ounce can chili with beans (I use low fat turkey chili) 1 cup shredded cheddar or pepper jack cheese (reduced fat cheese will also work) 1 4-ounce can of diced jalepenos Directions: Layer the ingredients in the order listed in an 8x8 casserole dish coated with cooking spray.
