The Wine, Spirits & Beers of March

Celebrate St. Paddy's Day with Irish whiskey, Peru's Pisco Sour, BBQ, Beer & Bourbon, Naked Wines and more.

There are craft beers to seriously contemplate, Pisco Sours to sip in honor of Peru, the High Museum of Art’s magnificent wine tastings and auction, orgasmically grown wines to try. It all starts this weekend with a fine fest celebrating beer, barbecue, babes, and bourbon although not necessarily in that order. March 1 starts the month with a high-end German Riesling tasting from 6-8 p.m. Thursday at Le Caveau Fine Wines on Peachtree Road in Chamblee. The store offers three 2009 vintage wines from Weingut Robert Well in the Rheingau--the Estate Riesling …

Just like anybody receiving a grade, we always want to get an A, but A’s aren’t easy to come by. In 2007 there were major changes made in Georgia’s Food Safety Regulations. According to www.restaurantnewsresource.com these changes make it possible for the Georgia Department of Human Resources (DHR), to standardize the regulations from county to county which makes state inspections a lot more consistent. Carol's Corner

The New TEN Bistro Scores a 10

Walk into this charming new Peachtree Corners restaurant and you know that it’s a place you want to sit down and stay awhile.

TEN Bistro is up, and coming to Peachtree Corners on June 1st. As you enter you’ll be greeted by a green accented room-length bench, art on the walls above, and music to match the mood of this cozy and welcoming space.  TEN is a completely Peachtree Corners endeavor with all of the major players and backers involved, living right here in the area. Jesse Kauffman is the proprietor of the restaurant. He lived most of his younger years in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, before moving to the states. During college and beyond he spent the bulk of his career, until now, working for large corporate restaurant companies, regionally managing dozens of restaurants. Others who are involved in the new endeavor are Rose (Jesse’s mom), Chef Matt Tarr and Barry …

We just had a wonderful lunch at TEN Bistro! Our waiter suggested the Seafood Paella as a special that was not listed on the menu. This dish was incredible and I later found out that it is Jesse's Mother's special recipe. My wife had the Key West Panini which was also great. We both enjoyed the hummus as well as the atmosphere, service and hospitality. Great job! Chris and Amy Williams 6-1-2011   more ›
