Man Indicted in Lanier Boating Accident of Usher's Step Son

Hall County grand jury delivers indictment against Jeffrey Hubbard, described as a family friend. Entertainer Usher was formerly Kile Glover's stepfather.

Jeffrey Hubbard, who was driving the personal watercraft that was involved with the death of Atlanta youth Kile Glover on Lake Lanier last year, has been indicted by a Hall County grand jury. Hubbard, described as a friend of Glover's family, has been indicted on the following charges: homicide by vessel, serious injury by vessel, reckless operation of a vessel, unlawful operation of a personal watercraft, and boat traffic violation, according to a Department of Natural Resources news release. Hubbard was arrested Friday (March 1) by rangers with Georgia Department of Natural Resources, and is in the Hall County Detention Center, the release said. The man who has been indicted in Hall County in connection with the boating deaths of two Gwinnett youths at Lake Lanier has a trial date, according to a media report. The Gainesville Times has reported that Paul Bennett, a Cumming resident, will face trial May 20, 2013. Also, the next motions hearing reportedly is set for January 31. Bennett was indicted for homicide and boating under the influence in connection with the boating collision on June 18, 2012, that killed Griffin and Jake Prince of Buford. Usher is selling the Roswell home he's allowed his ex-wife, and Estella Boutique owner, Tameka Raymond to live in since their divorce in 2009. The funeral for the youngster who died from injuries suffered in an accident on Lake Lanier earlier in July will be held in an Atlanta church.

The funeral for Kile Glover, the Atlanta youth who died from injuries suffered on Lake Lanier in July, will be Friday (July 27), according to media reports. The Atlanta Journal-Constitution has reported that the services for the son of Usher's ex-wife will be Friday at 11 a.m. at the Weiuca Road Baptist Church on Peachtree Road in Buckhead. Glover, 11, and a teenage friend were in an inner tube being pulled on a boat when they were hit by a personal watercraft. Glover suffered severe head injuries, was subsequently declared brain dead and was on life support for two weeks. He died July 21 after reportedly being removed from life support. Kile Glover, the son of entertainment superstar Usher's ex-wife, reportedly has died after being removed from life support. According to the entertainment website TMZ reported that Glover's mother, Tameka Foster, allegedly made the tough decision after being told that a full recovery was not likely. She is also said to have been unable to pay the medical bills required to keep her son on life support, after the family's insurance company coverage expired.  Glover, 11, was critically injured earlier in July after being hit by a jet ski driven by a family friend. A "friend of the family" was piloting the personal watercraft that injured the stepson of superstar entertainer Usher last week on Lake Lanier, according to a media report. MTV.com has reported that Jeffrey S. Hubbard was the operator of the personal watercraft that ran into Kyle Glover (aka Kile Glover), 11, and a 15 year old girl last week on the lake. Glover and the girl were life-flighted to Children's Hospital at Egleston in Atlanta after the accident. The stepson of superstar entertainer Usher is in critical condition following a collision at Lake Lanier on Friday afternoon, according to media reports. Kyle Glover, 11, and a 15-year-old girl were being pulled in inner tubes by a boat when they were hit by a man piloting a jet ski. The children were life-flighted to Children's Healthcare at Egleston Hospital, according to 11alive.com. So horrible. My prayers go out to the children and their families. I have seen too many irresponsible people drive jet ski's and boats. Too many people have no idea what the marina/dock rules are and some just don't care. They're too involved with themselves. This is such a tragic accident.   more ›
