Bassett Hound-Lab Mix Ready for Adoption

Abandoned on a busy street, Putt-Putt was rescued by an Angels Among Us Pet Rescue volunteer.

Putt-Putt is a male Bassett Hound/Lab mix who is approximately 2 years old and weighs around 55 pounds. The Puttmeister, as his wonderful foster mom calls him, is neutered, house and crate-trained, and is up-to-date on all his vetting, shots and has been microchipped.   Putt-Putt has had a rough start to his life, being abandoned by his his former owners by being put out of their car onto a busy street.  A good Samaritan saw him being tossed out of the car and contacted animal control in Walton county.  He was then brought into the shelter as a stray and was rescued from being euthanized by a volunteer of Angels Among Us Pet Rescue.   Because of such a rough start, this boy has proven to be a strong leader who loves to take charge!  Even …

Loving Pomeranian Mix Looking for Forever Home

Figi is house trained, up-to-date on his shots and ready for adoption through Angels Among Us Pet Rescue.

Meet little Figi, a Pomeranian/Cavalier King Charles Spaniel mix who is approximately 7 years old and weighs around 20 pounds.  He is neutered, crate and house-trained, up-to-date on all his vetting and shots, is micro-chipped and ready to find a loving, forever family.  Figi was found in a rural county animal shelter with another dog (female) who looked like his twin, but was a bit older. We aren't sure if they were related, or not. Little Figi was rescue by Angels Among Us Pet Rescue and a kind-hearted foster took him into her home.  We don't know for sure, but it appears he might have belonged to someone at one time who loved and cared for him, because he is a wonderful fellow who still has many, many very good years ahead of him.    …

Rescue Pet of the Week

Tiny Bundle of Joy Needs a Home

Chihuahua mix is ready for adoption through Angels Among Us Pet Rescue.

Meet "Lisa Marie"! This Chihuahua mix is 1-2 years old and weighs in at 8 pounds of joy, fun and love!  Lisa Marie is fully crate-trained, and has no issues with being crated. She is almost fully housebroken, but still does best when she has access to being taken out to potty during the day. This pup is great with other dogs, ignores her foster's kitty and although she is not aggressive at all, true to her breed, she is a "barker."  Lisa Marie had a very rough start in life: she was literally saved from death row, was scheduled to be euthanized but saved at the last minute by Angels Among Us Pet Rescue.  After being rescued, she was taken to one of Angels' vets and somehow slipped through the hands of one of their vet techs and took off! …

Special Dog with Special Needs Looking For Forever Home

Rainy is available for adoption from Angels Among Us Pet Rescue.

Meet Rainy, a male, Lab-shepherd mix who is 8-12 months old, and weighs around 40-50 pound. Rainy is neutered, microchipped, up to date on all his shots and vetting and is ready to find his forever home and family.  Rainy has such a special story to tell. You see, this poor pup was used by someone to train another dog to fight. Precious Rainy is not a fighter at all - he's very loving and doesn't have a mean bone in his body. This dear boy was brought into animal control after a horrible fight with torn ears, multiple puncture wounds all around his head.  As you can see in one of the pictures, Rainy actually lost the ear flap on the left side of his head that covered over the canal going into his ear. His injuries were horrific when he was…

'Sweet as Pie' Chihuahua Ready For Adoption

Rescued from rural animal shelter, she's available through Angels Among Us Pet Rescue.

Meet "Sweet Potato Pie," 2-year-old Chihuahua short-haired female who weighs 9 pounds, and each pound is filled with pure sweetness!  She is a recent rescue with Angels Among Us, and is spayed, microchipped, up-to-date on vetting, shots and preventatives. She is crate-trained and is 90 percent house-trained (she uses puppy pads inside when not able to go outside).   Sweetie-Pie (her nickname) has quickly become the apple of her foster's eye and she says the name fits this little girl perfectly as she is "sweet, warm, loving and very good." This precious little girl who wants nothing more than to be loved on, petted, cuddled with and just generally your little "vecro" buddy.  Prior to becoming an Angels dog, this baby was obviously starved…

Bundle of Joy, 'Bunny' Looking For A Home

Sharpei mix available for adoption from Angels Among Us Pet Rescue.

Meet little Bunny, a Sharpei mix who's a pure bundle of sweetness and love. Bunny is 13 weeks old, weighs approximately 10 to 12 pounds, is spayed, micro chipped, up-to-date on shots and vetting and is ready to go to her forever home and family. Bunny is a bundle of joy and 90 percent house- and crate-trained, although being young she will tend to whimper just a bit at first but quickly settles down and is no problem whatsoever in her crate.  She is great with other dogs, cats, children and adults - she has no aggression issues whatsoever. She is content to just curl up in a warm blanket an snooze away the day, but she is always up for a two-mile run with her foster, chasing the wind along the river trails for the afternoon.  She …

Two Canine Hearts Looking for One Home

Sugar Pie and Spices available for adoption from Angels Among Us Pet Rescue.

Meet "Sugar Pie and Spices," one totally adorable pair who are looking for their forever home and family through Angels Among Us Pet Rescue.  Sugar Pie is approximately 4 years old and Spices is around 2 years old. They each weigh around 6 pounds.   Both dogs are Chinese-Crested-Papillion mixes and were saved as part of a group of 20 dogs living with their owner inside the back of a van near Chatsworth, Ga. Sugar Pie is a female, and little Spices is a male. This pair is very bonded to each other, so Angels Rescue needs to find a loving home willing to open their doors and hearts to both.  When you meet them, you quickly understand why Angels is working to have them adopted together. Each night, as they go to bed, they quickly scoot under …

Shy, Loving Dog Needs a Forever Home

Chip is available for adoption from Angels Among Us Pet Rescue.

Chip is a male Schipperkee mix who is 3-4 years old and weighs approximately 30 pounds. He is neutered, house- and crate-trained, will willingly go to the door and bark to be let outside, if needed.  He is up-to-date on all his shots, vetting, preventatives, and is microchipped.  This precious dog has several strikes against him: 1) he caries the stigma of being a black dog, 2) he's a special-needs doggie, and 3) he's not as outgoing as others at adoption events and often gets overlooked.  Chip came to Angels Among Us Pet Rescue from a "hoarding" case in Cherokee County almost two years ago. He was part of a group of 200-plus animals kept on the property; he was never indoors but spent all his time outside, trying to survive the pack of …

Friendly American Pit Bull Terrier Ready for Adoption

Witteny, a 2-year-old female, is up-to-date on all her shots, microchipped and ready for her forever family and home for Christmas.

Meet Witteny!  Witteny is an American Pit Bull Terrier who is 2 years old and weighs 55 lbs.  Witteny was pulled from a high-kill Georgia shelter in June of 2012. Due to her breed and the stigma surrounding it, she was listed as a "rescue only" dog and was slated to be put down at 4:00 p.m. Then with five minutes to spare an "angel" named Lynda stepped in and agreed to foster her and save her life that fateful day.  When Lynda brought her home, she was very skinny and had the scars on her from being used as a possible "bait dog."  Witteny is NOT a fighter - she is a total love bug who wants only to love and be loved.  Her life changed course on that fateful day and now she is looking for that special "forever home." Witteny loves adults …

Loving German Shepherd Mix Needs Home

Bogart is 50 pounds of grace and affection.

This is Bogart, a male white German Shepherd-mix dog, who weighs approximately 50 pounds and is a little over a year old.  Bogart was found one Sunday afternoon in a rural shelter by one of the co-founders of Angels Among Us Pet Rescue. She was told he only had a few hours to live before the time scheduled to put thim down. She took him outside, to give him one more opportunity to feel the sun on his face, to romp and play and be free for a little while before his time would come to cross the rainbow bridge.  Instead of running and playing, or even begging for the treats in her pocket, this beautiful white dog chose to tenderly place his face in her hands, resting there while he soaked up the touch of a human who had taken some time to …
