About Gay

Gay Shook's "Over Coffee" column began with The Weekly in 1996. Now that The Weekly Online! has retired, she will be posting her "expresso with cinnamon" viewpoint on The Patch.

Mrs. Shook and her family arrived in Peachtree Corners in late 1984, a result of a corporate relocation for her husband Ron, now a retired vice president for The New York Times Regional Newspaper Group. She is a longtime civic volunteer for the United Peachtree Corners Civic Association and is currently serving on the boards of the Gwinnett Medical Center Foundation and the Hospital Authority of Gwinnett County.

Married to Ron Shook ever so long ago after graduating from Franklin College of Indiana with a BA in English and a second major in Journalism.  The couple have two adult sons and four fabulously wonderful grandchildren. She received an old-fashioned MBA from Mercer University's Stetson School of Business and Economics in 1996 and joined Mensa that year also.
