  I went when they were opened about a month. I took all of my grandkids. I was reluctant since it seemed the skates were made from plastic, not leather like they were long ago. Sure enough, my grandaughter broke her elbow and ended up in the emergency room. I suppose it may be a nice place to go, but I have to wonder how safe it is when the skates don't bind tightly as they should because of what they're made of.

  Tammy: We are very sorry to hear about your granddaughter. We hate to see anyone get hurt and hope she will return to skating once she's healed. We have had thousands of skaters come through our doors and skate in our rental skates, without any problems or complaints. I skate in our rentals and have not had any problems. We purchased our rental skates from a reputable supplier and know that they would not sell skates that were not safe. Everyone has their personal preferences and if your grandchildren love skating, then purchasing their own skates is something we recommended. Several of our customers have purchased their children's skates at local thrift stores at a great savings.
