City's Inaugural 'Christmas in the Corners Parade' Set for Nov. 23

Colorful floats, antique cars, dancers, and even Santa, will be part of Peachtree Corners parade.

Strike up the band - and hang on to your bonnets - here comes the parade.

Just in time for the Christmas holidays, colorful floats, clowns, dancers - and even Santa will help kick off Peachtree Corners inaugural parade at 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 23 along a route on The Corners Parkway.

"Marching in the parade will be cheer teams, Brownie and Cub Scout troops, the Norcross High School baseball and softball teams, several school groups, a karade group - all together we've got over 77 participants," said Sheri Snyder, president of the inaugural "Christmas in the Corners Parade" board.

Snyder, who also owns Objet d'Art, along with board members Dax Dossman (Adams Apples owner), Carla Snyder, Debbie Mason and a committee of 10 have been working since August on the parade plans.

"We also have the Norcross High School Marching Band, the Shriners in their funny cars, Chick-fil-A's Dancing Cows and the big stuffed Bison from Ted's Montana Grill in the parade," said Snyder. "The parade will finish with Santa riding in a horse-drawn carriage."

The idea of a parade sprang from the Peachtree Corners Festival, said Mason. "We are trying to help create traditions, like those of surrounding cities, for our city to enjoy," she said. The parade will be an annual event to be held each year on the Saturday before Thanksgiving.

The 1/2 mile parade route begins at The Corners Parkway Way and Crooked Creek Road and finishes up at Holcomb Bridge Road. After the parade, children and parents are invited to "Candy Cane Lane" (located on Woodhill Drive) to visit with Santa who will have a treat for children and a goodie bag for adults. Photos with Santa will be available too.

And just in case you've worked up an appetite, there will be a number of food trucks near the parade finish point to purchase a snack or a meal.
