An event not to be missed: November 23 at 10 a.m. (the Saturday before Thanksgiving) the inaugural City of Peachtree Corners Christmas Parade!
As the newest and largest city in Gwinnett County we are in a unique position of creating traditions to call our own. The holidays are the perfect time to begin something that will make special memories for our citizens for generations to come.
The parade will take place on The Corners Parkway. It's a lovely tree-lined street with ample parking for all parade-goers (known for hosting the Peachtree Corners Festival). The parade will wrap-up at "Candy Cane Lane" where Santa will talk to the children, get their lists, give them treats and an opportunity for a keepsake photo.
Christmas in the Corners, Inc. is organizing the parade. The new non-profit organization came to being by the collaboration of local citizens and business owners with a desire to create an increased sense of community through events, promoting shopping locally and providing new educational opportunities for the youth of Peachtree Corners through community involvement, volunteerism and other means. As the holiday approaches, shoppers will be able to take advantage of the special promotions provided by many businesses participating in the Christmas in the Corners. Participating merchants will be offering savings and enticing door buster specials.
If you would like to volunteer for the Parade Committee or if your group (scouts, band, school organization, etc.) or business would like to create a float or don something festive and be a part of this first Christmas Parade, please go to the website for registration information or call 678-429-2550. Of course, it takes funds to create a parade, so if you or your business would like to be an Inaugural Parade Sponsor, we would love your help. You can also find sponsorship information in the website.
