Peachtree Corners Library Receives Special Gift

The West Chapter of the Friends of Library and the Peachtree Corners Business Association presented a custom-made display cabinet to the local library.

Through the generous donation of the Peachtree Corners Business Association and the help of the West Chapter of the Friends of the Library, the local library branch has a custom-made cabinet to display local works of art.

The West Chapter of the Friends of the Library realized the Peachtree Corners Branch of the Gwinnett Library needed a way to display works of arts beyond wall art and contacted the PCBA for its assistance.

"The West Chapter started last summer as a pilot program," said Bruschini. Several of the West Chapter members met with Mary Jean Harrison, the branch manager of the Peachtree Corners location and made a wish list.

On top of the list was a curio display cabinet.

A donation of $1,200 was made through the PCBA's outreach program. "The business association gives back 25 percent of its membership dues to the community," said Pat Kaemmerling, a local business owner who helped spearhead the PCBA's outreach program.

The new cabinet is located in the library's lobby and atop the display case is a plaque that reads: Donated by the Peachtree Corners Business Association (PCBA) with assistance from the Friends of the Library, Nov. 13, 2013.

The cabinet was dedicated in a short presentation on Wednesday, Nov. 13, 2013.

Currently the works of Duluth artist Linda Curry are on display. Her ancient Chinese folk art of Temari, through Jan. 15, 2014.
