Lane Closures Scheduled for Peachtree Industrial Boulevard

Peachtree Corners commuters who travel Peachtree Industrial Boulevard may have noticed a number of orange road construction barrels that have just popped up near the southbound lanes adjacent to the Technology Parkway intersection.

Gwinnett Department of Transportation announced that it's adding a new left-turn lane at the intersection. Southbound travelers should expect some delays near the Technology Parkway intersection during the hours of 9 - 4 p.m. through July 19.

"Gwinnett County DOT will be adding a new left turn lane and left turn arrow on PIB (Peachtree Industrial Boulevard) that will allow u-turn movement back to the new GIVE Center West," said David S. Tucker, Deputy Director for Gwinnett Department of Transportation.

The GIVE Center West, currently located on Beaver Ruin Road just west of Buford Highway, is relocating to its new campus in August, 2013. The school is part of the Gwinnett County Public School system.

According to GCPS spokesman, Jorge Quintana, GIVE Center West will open the school year with approximately 250 students and 70 faculty and staff members.
