Saturday Offers a Full Day of Family Fun

Peachtree Corners families will have lots of activities to enjoy from races and live music to food -- and even the Atlanta Hawks this Saturday, April 21.

This is a good weekend to plan on staying in town. There will be no shortage of things to do this Saturday in Peachtree Corners.

On Saturday, April 21, the new city will be rocking and rolling with family fun at which is celebrating its 10th anniversary. And down the street on Corners Parkway (the site of the Peachtree Corners Arts Festival) the Atlanta Hawks will bring the Atlanta Street Food Coalition for more family fun.

The day starts off early with the "Run the Corners 5k Walk/Run & 1k Fun Run which benefits the 's "Partner With Youth" campaign. The race begins and ends at The Forum. For more information on the race visit the RunTheCorners website. The race is also a qualifier for the 4th of July Peachtree Road Race.

The folks at The Forum have planned a day filled with entertainment for children and adults including a kid's zone (located in front of ) from 11 - 4 p.m with inflatables, face painters. For the grown-ups there's Terry Lee and the GT's will perform live at the Clock Tower at 1 p.m.

And of course there's food - and plenty of it. A  strolling tasting event from 2 - 4 p.m. with participating restaurants offering up a variety of choices. The cost is 50 cents per ticket with no item costing over five tickets.

And just down the street on Corners Parkway (behind the ), the Atlanta Hawks are holding a block party in celebration of Peachtree Corners becoming a new city.

The will be on hand from 11 a.m. - 3 p.m. with food, games and music to help celebrate Peachtree Corners' cityhood.

Hawks Legend and NBA Hall of Famer Dominique Wilkins will stop by from 12-1 p.m., Jerry Stackhouse will make a special appearance while Harry the Hawk and the Hawks Cheerleaders will be around all day signing autographs, interacting with fans with a full basketball court, inflatables and more.
