Restaurant, Retail Shops Lined Up for New Development Across from The Forum

A new restaurant, an organic grocer and several other retailers have been secured for the four-acre development called "Peachtree Corners Market." The project is expected to be completed by next summer.

Construction has been underway for several weeks on the five acres on S.R. 141 located adjacent to Piedmont Bank across from The Forum.

Trees have been cleared and mounds of dirt are being transferred from the development to the city's 20.6 acres behind the development for later use.

The developer, Bob Cheeley, said tenants for his retail development, which is named "Peachtree Corners Market" and fronts S.R. 141, are already lined up. They include a grocer, another bank, several retail shops and a new restaurant.

"A PNC Bank branch, a Verizon store, a Sleep Number bedding store, an organic grocer, and a restaurant called Zoe's Kitchen are coming in," said Cheeley. "One more retail store is coming, we're finalizing the details now." The yet-to-be-named grocery store will occupy a 27,000 square-foot space.

Cheeley described Zoe's Kitchen as "a  fast-casual restaurant that serves Greek Mediterranean style food. There are five other Zoe's locations in the metro area including Alpharetta and Roswell.

The target date for completion is July 1.

And on the opposite corner, a Chase Bank is under construction on a 1.10-acre parcel on Peachtree Corners Circle and S.R. 141. The bank building is located on a six-acre tract owned by Charlie Roberts.

Patch attempted to get an update from Brian Pelham, the project manger with LAI Engineering in charge of the Chase bank project to ask about a projected date of completion, but was told by his office staff that the information was not available.

However, Diana Wheeler, the city's Community Development Director said that barring any weather delays "a branch bank generally takes about 7-9 months to construct" which means by next summer the bank could be ready to open.
