Possums Invade Peachtree Corners Apartment

Tenant says nine animals have been pulled from her Highland Lakes unit.

Gaining access through a fireplace opening possums have invaded the Dominick's family's apartment and now they want to move out - and soon.

In a report that aired on Channel 2 Monday, May 7, Lakisha Dominick told a news reporter that her apartment had been taken over by the critters.

"The 8-year-old went to use the bathroom and sits on the toilet and something splashes on her," Dominick said. "She turned around and looked and said 'Aah! Mom, there's possums in the toilet!"

Dominick showed the news reporter several photos of possums her husband had killed after they ran through the family's living room. She said they even found possums hanging from the artificial tree in their living room.

The apartment complex has offered to waive the Dominick's rent for the month of May and relocate her and her family for free to another apartment in the complex next month. But Dominick said she doesn't feel safe and wants to get her family out immediately.

"You've got to accommodate me. You’ve got to put me and my kids somewhere because now you have me in harms way," said Dominick.
