Do You Dread Valentine’s Day?

If so, you’re not alone.

If there’s one thing we can’t forget in February, it is Valentine’s Day.

Romance is all around us — in the stores, on TV and in those little hints we drop for that special someone about just where we would like to dine on Valentine's Day.

But what if you don’t have that special someone in your life right now? Maybe you’ve just suffered a bad break-up.

Some people find the approach of Valentine’s Day a time to feel anxious rather than romantic. Some singles have been known to arrange special “non-Valentine” parties Feb. 14 each year — just to make a statement.

According to life coach and author Ken Linder, many people fit into this category. On his website, he has some answers to why this happens.

He also has some suggestions on how to change your perspective. He specializes in channeling the energy of toxic emotions, which run especially high for many during the Valentine’s season.

What does Valentine’s Day mean for you? A time to celebrate with someone special every year? Or just another attempt at commercialism that discriminates against those who are between relationships?
