Police Report 84-Year-Old Lilburn Man Located

Elderly man who suffers from dementia was last heard from Thursday night, Oct. 13.

The Gwinnett County Police Department has been notified that Mr. Parrish has been located and is safe. A Sheriff's Deputy from South Carolina located Mr. Parrish's car that had become disabled, and his family was notified. The family was making arrangements to reunite with Mr. Parrish Friday evening.

On Thursday police reported that Ralph Parrish, 84, had left his home in unincorporated Lilburn around 7 p.m. and had not been seen since. Gwinnett County Police issued an alert in an effort to find the man, who suffers from dementia.

Parrish was headed to Decatur Thursday evening to collect rent on a house there. He called family members around 10:30 and said he was lost somewhere around I-85 and I-20 in south Atlanta. The family member gave him directions, but he hasn't been heard from since.

Parrish had on khaki pants and a button-down shirt. He was driving a gray 2005 Chevreolet Aveo and has a small, white Shih-tzu dog with him. He suffers from dementia and needs medication, Cpl. Edwin Ritter said in a release.
