Police Arrest Peachtree Corners Bank Robber

Two days after a man robbed a Wells Fargo bank in Peachtree Corners, Gwinnett County police detectives have arrested a suspect.

"GCPD detectives arrested the suspect, Jeremy Thompson, who also goes by the name of Jeremy Cannon, at an Atlanta Greyhound bus station late last night," said Cpl. Jake Smith, spokesman for the Gwinnett police department.

Police had discovered information that lead them to believe Thompson was heading to Miami, Florida by bus. When he was arrested he had a fake hand grenade with him. According to an earlier police report, the robber had produced what looked like a hand grenade at the Tuesday morning robbery at the Peachtree Corners bank.

"Thompson has been charged with one count of armed robbery for the bank robbery in Gwinnett.  He remains in custody at the Gwinnett County Detention Center without bond," said Smith.

On Tuesday, Sept. 3 shortly after 9 a.m. employees reported that a black male (now identified as Jeremy Thompson) entered the bank. He stood in a teller's line and when it was his turn he approached the counter and gave the teller a note demanding money and then produced what appeared to be a hand grenade.
