Wyntree Pool House Destroyed in Morning Fire

No foul play suspected, say fire officials.

A wooden pool house in the Wyntree subdivision in the Peachtree Corners area of Norcross caught fire early this morning, destroying the structure but causing no injuries.Β

Firefighters were called to scene by a neighbor, who discovered the fire on a morning walk around 5:30 a.m. The subdivision is located off Medlock Bridge Road, near Peachtree Industrial Boulevard.

Firefighters were not able to enter the structure immediately, but battled the flames aggressively from the outside of the structure using an aerial ladder, according to a release from Cpt. Tommy Rutledge.Β

"The fire appears to have started in the area where the underground utilities connect into the building," said Rutledge in the release. The pool house contained two bathrooms and storage for the pool pump, chemicals and cleaning supplies. The exact cause of the fire is still undetermined, but fire officials say no foul play is suspected.Β

A power line was also downed in the blaze.
