City Council Reappoints Planning Commission, ZBA Members

The Peachtree Corners City Council also recognized Wesleyan School's headmaster, Zach Young with a special proclamation.

The Peachtree Corners City Council meeting on Tuesday was an evening for recognitions.

Mayor Mike Mason took a moment during his opening remarks to recognized the one-year anniversary of Julian Jackson, who on Oct. 1, 2012, became the city's first City Manager. And the mayor also took a moment to point out that the city swore in its first judge at the last city council meeting. Judge Charles Barrett will handle code enforcement cases.

And first on the agenda was a presentation of a proclamation for Zach Young, Wesleyan School's headmaster who will after 17 years at the helm of the private Peachtree Corners school will be retiring.

In other news, the City Council approved the alcoholic beverage license application for Marco's Pizza, a new restaurant located on Peachtree Parkway near Office Max. The application was approved 7-0.

And the council approved the reappointment of Alan Kaplan and Mark Middleton to the Planning Commission and Marcia Brandes and Wayne Knox to the Zoning Board of Appeals. Both resolutions passed 7-0.

The next city council meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, Oct. 15 at 7 p.m.
