City Council to Consider Adding Redevelopment Powers

On the agenda of its Tuesday meeting, city leaders will discuss adding it to the Nov. 5 ballot.

There is only one item on the Peachtree Corners City Council's agenda for its Tuesday meeting, a resolution to consider adding Redevelopment Powers.

At its Sept. 3, the City Council will consider a resolution that would add to the Nov. 5 ballot a referendum to allow citizens an opportunity to vote whether to give the city Redevelopment Powers.

Redevelopment Powers, which are provided by Georgia's State Constitution, would give the city the ability to create tax allocation districts, to issue tax allocation bonds and incur other obligations.

To read more about the bill, click here, the information is on pages 4-5. You may also find the information by visiting the city's website, and under "Meeting Agendas and Minutes" locate the information in "Agenda Packet."

A copy of the agenda is included with this article. The City Council meeting is scheduled for 7 p.m., Tuesday, Sept. 3 at City Hall, 147 Technology Parkway, Peachtree Corners, GA 30092.
