Three Qualify for Three Berkeley Lake Posts

No contested seats on ballot in Nov. 8 municipal election.

Qualifying for the Berkeley Lake Municipal Election ended at 4 p.m. on Thursday (Sept. 1) with three candidates registering to place their names on the Nov. 8 ballot. Qualifying began Monday.

Berkeley Lake's Deputy City Administrator, Leigh Threadgill, reported that incumbent Mayor Lois Salter and incumbent Council Members Rebecca Spitler and Bob Smith qualified for re-election to second four-year terms. They will have no opposition in the upcoming election.

Bob Smith will run for the Council Member position vacated by Frank Lombardi who resigned last month. Lombardi who moved to Sandy Springs recently was no longer qualified to hold the position. Smith was appointed by Council to replace Lombardi to serve until the Nov. 8 elections.
