NCSP Needs Volunteers to Bag, Deliver Books

Peachtree Corners volunteers - the Norcross Cluster Schools Partnership can use your help this week.

Β

The Norcross Cluser Schools Partnership needs some willing hands to organize bags of books for various Norcross elementary schools from April 2-13.

NCSP is completing a project where every student in the Norcross area from pre-kindergarten to fifth grade receives a book to take home as his or her very own.

"For many students, this book becomes one of a very few that they have," said NCPS Founder Kim Dorough in an press release.

So far, the organization distributed more than 4,100 books in August and September last year, and volunteers are working on the final 3,500.

NCPS currently has 3,000 books that are ready to bag and deliver to , and Stripling Elementary. All the volunteers would have to do is simple: Count out 27 books (which are organized by reading level) and put them in a bag.

The bags would be for 84 teachers, which brings the total book count to 2,217.

Volunteers will need to meet in an office located at 6045 Atlantic Boulevard, which is at the corner of Atlantic Boulevard and Holcomb Bridge Road (near the Target in Peachtree Corners). Feel free to bring music and snacks.

If counting and organizing isn't your thing, volunteers can also assist in delivering the books to the schools.

If you're interested in spending an hour of two doing some good deeds for the kids, contact Kim Dorough at 404-822-0915 and kdorough22@yahoo.com.
