Atlanta's Hudson Wins in Gwinnett

Afternoon game set for Thursday at Coolray Field.

Tim Hudson of the Atlanta Braves was the winning pitcher Wednesday night in his rehab start at Coolray Field. The Gwinnett Braves won 4-1 over Norfolk.

Hudson, making his first rehab start since 2009, allowed an unearned run over five innings and retired 13 straight batters at one point.

"It was a step in the right direction. I don't feel like I'm quite ready to go, but it was a positive step in the right direction," Hudson said in a news release. "I feel good where I'm at physically. It's more about executing pitches and figuring out a better way to get big league hitters out."

The G-Braves got all the runs they would need in the first, when Ernesto Mejia delivered a three-run double. It was win No. 10 of the season for Gwinnett, making them only the second team in the International League to reach double figures this season.
