Gwinnett Braves Win Fourth Straight

Cordier has successful comeback from head injury.

Pitcher Erik Cordier allowed six hits and two runs in six innings Tuesday as the Gwinnett Braves beat Louisville, 9-4, in Louisville, Ky. It was the G-Braves' fourth straight win.

It was Cordier's first start since being hit in the head with a line drive recently. With the win, the G-Braves pulled to within a half-game of first-place Durham in the International League South.

Infielder Wilkin Castillo was 3-for-5 with two RBI for the G-Braves.

The teams play again Wednesday night in Louisville. Former major league pitcher Dontrelle Willis will start against the G-Braves.

The G-Braves also announced that pitcher Jairo Asencio has been optioned back to Gwinnett from Atlanta.
