High School Football Roundup

A look back and a look ahead for Peachtree Corners high school football fans.

High school football is back and now every team in the area has at least one game under its belt. Here’s a brief look at the football action from the weekend in Peachtree Corners Patch:

Norcross High School 35, Dacula 7 – The Blue Devils scored twice in the first half and had a two-touchdown lead at halftime, Norcross's quarterback, Joseph Wilber tossed for over 200 yards. Touchdowns  came from fullback Tanner Maloof, who scored twice. Wide receiver Anthony Autry and running backs Jordan Dooley and Curtis Whisby each put one touchdown on the board. The Blue Devils had last week off and face Parkview this Friday in Lilburn.

Wesleyan 43, Seminole Co. 40 – In a high-scoring game, the Wolves squeeked one out in the final minutes of the game when Senior safety Zander Yost intercepted a Seminole pass in the end zone ending the home team's hope for the winning score. The Wolves were up 43-40 with two minutes left in the game when the Seminoles took over, but Yost's interception ended their chance at victory. This week the Wolves play their first home game of the season against Elbert Co.
