Dropped at Shelter, Morgan, Looking for Loving Home

Affectionate English Coonhound is ready for adoption.

Morgan is “nobody's dog.” She once had a family of some sort, but she lost them along the way. She was dumped and forgotten at a rural shelter in North GA, where most animals never see anyone coming through the door, looking to give them a home.

But on what was to be Morgan’s last day on Earth, someone did come - a volunteer from Angels Among Us Pet Rescue changed Morgan’s fate that day by rescuing her from death.

You'd think that would have been a day that would lead her to a happy life filled with love, but it has still been a tough, emotional road for Morgan.

Morgan is an English Coonhound, approximately 2-3 years old. She is beautiful, and kind-hearted. She loves people and other dogs. Morgan also loves kids and enjoys playing for hours with other dogs or children.

Morgan is one of those dogs who will lay her head on your lap literally for hours. She definitely needs an affectionate family for you see, Morgan is a sensitive, intelligent girl who loves hard and gives her heart completely to her humans.

She’s been disappointed time after time, and each time has taken a deeper toll upon her heart and spirit. Just as she did in the shelter, this girl is beginning to lose hope of ever finding her forever family and home.

Morgan has lived on and off in a cage-free daycare for over a year now and she’s just, as we humans would say, “over it.”  She knows deep inside that she’s homeless and that she is nobody's dog, and it has broken her heart. You can see her sadness when you gaze into her deep, soulful eyes.

Each week, she becomes sadder when the transporter who takes Morgan to adoptions has to take her away from the humans she wants to be with so badly and bring her back to boarding – and each week, Morgan’s shoulders and head slump a little more.

Being a hound dog, Morgan cannot be in a home with cats, birds, or any other small creatures.  She is an avid hunter and true to her breed; she was probably trained and used to hunt before she was dumped and forgotten. Her prey-drive for creatures other than dogs is high and it is a trait born into her, and not her fault.

She loves to run and would love to have a fenced-in backyard and someone who is active and would want to spend time with her doing fun stuff and someone who would be home quite a bit – Morgan craves interaction with her humans.

Morgan is waiting for that forever home. She wants a family to love her forever and ever and one who won’t toss her away, and break her heart all over again.

Are you her savior? Please share her story. Even if you cannot adopt her, you may know someone who is looking for a dog and wonderful companion just like Morgan or someone who would be willing to foster her in their home.

Please help us change Morgan’s fate and let her know that she is “somebody’s dog.”

Morgan is crate-trained, house-trained, spayed, HW negative, up to date on all vetting and shots, microchipped, and ready for her forever or foster home!  Adoption and foster applications can be found at www.angelsrescue.org.
