What's Going On Around Town

The Peachtree Corners Patch calendar is full of news about events coming up in the weeks ahead. Here's a look at five of this week's community events. Click on the links in the listings for additional information.

The Peachtree Corners DDA meets at 11:30 a.m. on Monday, Sept. 30 at City Hall. On the agenda, the DDA will select a first and second choice to purchase the DDA property (there were a total of three developers who replied to the city's RFD).

Food Truck Tuesdays begin: Tuesday, Oct. 1 from 5-9 p.m. at Pinckneyville Park. Come enjoy Food Truck Tuesdays at Pinckneyville Park. Starting Oct. 1, there will be 10 or more food trucks, live entertainment and rides for the kids.
Proceeds from the food and kids rides benefit the Norcross Youth Baseball and Softball Association.

Sal Brownfield: Celebration of Healing: Art exhibit, Tuesday Oct 1, 7 - 9 p.m. opening reception at Hudgens Center for the Arts. It’s a party--food and drink. Opening Reception. Book signing -- A Celebration of Healing, Sal Brownfield paintings with models’ stories by Eve Hoffman.

City Council Meeting: Tuesday, Oct. 1, 7 p.m. Mayor to make a presentation for Zach Young, the long-time headmaster of Wesleyan School, who will be retiring next spring. The Council will consider an alcoholic beverage license application for Marco's Pizza (located near Office Max and reappoint the Planning Commission and Zoning Board of Appeals members.

Norcross High School Theater Group Presents NUNSENSE, a musical comedy: Oct. 3, 4 and 5th, 7 p.m. The hilarious show follows the misadventures and antics of 5 nuns whose sisters have died from accidental food poisoning.  The nuns, in dire need of funds to pay for their sisters' burials, put on a riotous revue packed with hilarious, show-stopping and and dance numbers.
